A bit bland for the gravy but ingredients were plenty. Shredded pork, fish cake, ngoh hiong. Not worth the 30 mins Q for such a lor mee.
Tucked in a small corner, the store is ran by a tiny grandma alone and a staff handling payment. So do bear in mind that queuing might take a while.
Taste wise is pretty mild in my opinion. There is pulled pork instead of the typical pork belly. Ingredients aplenty and portion size is small for $4.50, large for $5.50. My dad says the standard has dropped from last time. Probably wouldn't buy again.
My first time trying this and the queue was about half an hour when I started before 1pm.
Seems like the reviews are mixed. Personally, I rather enjoyed this (and I had packed it back home, which normally gets discounted in terms of taste).
For $4, the portion was huge (I was still worried if it would be enough and had contemplated ordering the $5 bowl. Fortunately I didn’t). Plus you get friendly service. They also pass you the mug of noodles after cooking it so you may add your own condiment before they pack it.
As I’m not a braised pork belly person, the duck slices were a welcomed difference and were rather tasty. The ngoh hiang and fish cake pieces were okay. The gravy was slightly diluted but it doesn’t bother me. The half egg was abit hard.
Will I queue so long again for it? Perhaps not. But I will be happy to eat it again when the queue is shorter.
After note: I went back on my words hahah. I was in the vicinity and thus queued half an hour for it (there was a line forming already when I arrived at 11.58am. It opens at 12 noon). So yeah, I guess this is one of my fave lor mee.
1 word = Delicious.... Well well lost count of how many times i queue up for this Tradition Lor Mee. The price is still affordable and reasonable. The portion given was GENEROUS. Not like other famous mee where the minimum price is at least $4-$5 and the portion given is PATHETIC... The GRAVY is thick, taste is VERY GOOD. Love the Chili .... Well worth my time waiting...Do take note that they REST on Every Monday. I saw they accept Nets payment which is GREAT IMHO.....Well would i come back for this stall again if i pass by this hawker centre ? Ans: YES ! YES ! Finally do note that it open around 12pm during weekday. By the time it open was around 12.30pm almost.
Reopen from the Reno, there’s a queue before the opening hour. $4.50 was sufficient, $5.50 one was a huge packet! Flavorful lor mee with lots of ingredients.
Tasted so so. Noodles used are slightly on the bitter side. Braised egg is too dry and hard, probably overcooked for the day. Other toppings are okay. You can add some garlic and chilli for better flavour. Price is cheap at $4 or $5 only. Not really worth the queue for me.
you have to try if you’re around the area!!! Take note of their operating hours as well
Hands down my favorite lor Mee shop.
Be prepared to queue! Shops open at 11.30/ 12pm no fixed timing.
Queue will start to form as early as 11.15am, good to be the first so you do not need to join the long queue.
Generous portion of ingredients for that price. Shredded meat, ngoh hiang, boiled eggs and other type of wrapped meat goodness.
Friendly stall owners who are always welcoming and warm
Recommended. Not your usual traditional Lor Mee but traditional in its own aspect for the ingredients and sauce. Friendly service, good value. No Msg after-taste. 👍. Be ready to queue up to 40mins during peak hours and weekends. …
